BECAUSE IONIC BONDS ( FORMING COMPOUNDS ) ARE VERY STRONG IN NATURE AND IT REQUIRES A LOT OF HIGH ENERGY TO BREAK THEIR BONDING.
SO THEY HAVE HIGH MELTING AS WELL AS BOILING POINTS.
