Iron articles are painted or rather galvanised so as to prevent rusting ofiron, which happens when the moisture in the air reacts with the ironthereby bringing about corrosion which damages the articles. Hence, ironobjects have a coating of paint over them which prevents corrosion andmakes the object last longer.
