The iron in your blood does notrust because the human body cannot absorb ferric iron, only ferrous iron. ... As the iron present in the haemoglobin, where haemoglobin carries oxygen molecules from air and water and leaves the oxygen molecules to the tissues.

The iron in your body doesn't rust because the human body cannot absorb ferric iron. Iron in the blood become oxidized when it blinds. The oxidation or the rusting of iron in the blood gives oxygenated blood it's better red colour. Even if the iron in the blood is free floating, iron would not rust as it does on car bumper.
