Because the distance between earth's center and earth's surface is so much greater than the rest of thw way to get to the body, we take R = constant. Therefore the gravitational force only depends on earth's mass(which we take also as a constant) and the mass of the body on the balance. ... Numerically, g = 9.8 m/s^2.

Answer:
F= m×a
F = 1 × 9.8 {9.8 is acceleration due to gravity }
F = 9.8 newton
