because 24 carat gold is a pure gold and is very soft which can ve easily broke so is not easily used in jewellery or other ornaments or accessories in daily wearings

- Pure gold is though more shiny, it's too much soft for making ornaments.
- Ornaments made from 24-karat gold are easily break even by simple bending.
- Therefore, instead of using pure gold, silver/zinc/nickel are added in it to make jewellery.
- Most commonly used is 22-karat gold for making jewellery.
