Why is 31st December, 1929 an important date in Indian History?

Purna swaraj or The declaration of indian indelendence was promulgated on 19th December 1929 by Indian National Congress and after that 0n 31st december ,the flag of india was hoisted by Jawaharlal Nehru on the bank of river ravi.
