82' 30"E has been chosen as the Indian Standard Meridian because___
i) longitudinal extension of India is 68'7"E to 97'25"E.
ii) We know 1' longitudinal difference means 4' time variation. So, for 30' two hours time difference between from West to East in India.
iii) To avoid the time related confusion, we choose 82' 30"E as an Indian Standard Meridian as it has passes through middle of our country.
