why is a copper wire not used in the filament of a bulb? what will happen if we use a thick tungsten wire ina an electric bulb?
Answers
Answer:
1) Copper wire is not used in the filament of an electric bulb because copper element have very low resistance and the bulb will not glow if electricity is passed through it.
2) If we use thick tungsten wire instead of thin tungsten in an electric bulb it will not glow properly because resistance is lower in thick tungsten as compared to thin tungsten. If resistance is high then the bulb glow properly.
