Answer:

Democracy is the government for the people, by the people and of the people. As the name suggests, people have right to vote for their own government. People have the right to vote irrespective of their caste, creed, gender or religion. This is called Universal Adult Franchise. Government is elected for 5 years. The power does not lie in the hands of only one person. If the people are not satisfied with the government, they are not forced to vote to the same government, instead vote to the government that would provide all facilities to people.

A democratic government is a better government as— (i) it offers better chances of a good decision.

(ii) it is always likely to respect people wishes and allows different kinds of people to live together and.

(iii) even when it fails to do something for the people it allows a way of correcting its mistakes and offers more dignity to all citizens. That is why a democracy is considered the best form of government.

(iv)People can reelect other candidates if the candidate choosen by them is not working for them properly.

Hope it may help
