Flood Plains are suitable for agriculture as fine alluvium deposits make the plain very fertile.

Human settlement has always been found on the banks of rivers. Similarly, northern plains have three major rivers along with their tributaries, that make agriculture easier and also satisfy human needs.

The flat lands of the plains make it an ideal place for settlement as a large network of roads and Highways and Railways are present here.

Rivers are abundant in this region facilitating setting up of industries. So, people shifted for work.As population increase, the tertiary sector boommed so more people shifted.

The northern plains of the most hospitable climate in the country although it is not as present as of the coastal regions.
