Forest-dwellers were sometimes pushed out of their lands with the spread of agricultural settlements
Lack of income in hunting and other activities forced forest dwellers to migrate to cities in search of income. They went to other villages for working as agricultural labourers. Kings used to exploit the forest dwellers by keeping a large share of forest produce.
Between 700 and 1750, there was a gradual clearing of forests and the extension of agriculture, a change faster and more complete in some areas than in others. Changes in their habitat forced many forest-dwellers to migrate. They became part of large complex societies, and were required to pay taxes and offer goods and services to local lords.
During the medieval period due to increase of agriculture work the farmers and peasants felt there was lack of land to do agriculture. So they started clearing the forests . Some of the forest dwelers turned into peasants and joined the other peasants and started doing agriculture work to earn a living
