According to Newton's third law of motion, action force is equal to reaction but acts on two different bodies and in opposite derections. When a horse pushes the ground, the ground reacts and exerts a force on the horse in the forward direction. The force is able to overcome friction force of the cart and it moves.

Question :-

Why is a horse able to push the cart if action is always equal to reaction ?

_______________________________

Answer :-

The horse exerts a force on the ground.

This force acts as the action.

According to Newton's third law of motion , every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

The action here was the force exerted by the horse on the ground.

The force exerted faces a reaction opposite to the action.

This reaction helps the horse to move forward.

In simple words , the force exerted by the horse on the ground faces an opposite reaction which helps the horse to move forward .

This helps the horse to push the cart forward .

Hope it helps !
