why is a leaf treated with boiling water and ethanol before it is subjected to the iodine test?​

because a boiled leaf has lost all its pigments and then doing the iodine test in order to see the pigments would show positive result

Answer:

This treatment dissolve the chlorophyll and remove the green colour from the leaf . it turn white so , it is easy to see the change in colour in iodine test .
