because during lightning large amount of energy is transferred in the form of light due to the collision of innumerable number oru particles.

Lightning occurs when two or more heavy clouds collides together. This produces extreme heat which ionisas the air particles and convertes into plasma. The temperature of lightning is around 1 lakh Celsius. If any thing comes in its way it would be burnt.
