Answer:

1.The airplane is without a doubt the most influential invention of the 20th century, simply because it shrunk the world. It has connected nations that would have never been connected otherwise, and shown us a new, unseen and spectacular perspective of our earth.

2.It would either take a long sea voyage or a tedious cross-country ride on whatever means were available. Now, with the ability to hop a plane, they can fly around the world within hours. Businesses can be considered international, boosting their profits, which in turn creates more jobs for their local community.

Answer:

At the time, the invention of the airplane was the fulfillment of a dream. “If I were a bird…” was the very first fantasy of human beings. It was our envy of those little creatures. Flight was the gift we gave in philosophy, in our religions and our mythology to the possessors of power, virtue and magic, -to gods and angels and monsters and devils. It was beyond our reach, perhaps beyond our holy bounds as earthly beings. But, it was within the schemes of engineers.

Was the achievement of flight important? It was profound! It proved that humans were capable of anything!

Few, and there were very few, could foresee how much the airplane would change the lives of people. The effect of the airplane in making this a smaller world and advancing us toward a single human community is immeasurable. Is this important? This world will never be the same.
