Why is a plane mirror used as a reflector in solar cooker?

Because it helps in absorbing heat soon and it is a good reflector.

Mirrors are used as they increase the amount of sunlight falling on the glass surface of the cooker. The total sunlight used for cooking would become = Sunlight falling directly on the glass + Sunlight reflected from themirror.
