Why is a potassium atom larger than a sodium atom?

because of the reason that on going from top to bottom in periodic table size of atom increases as shell number increases and hence size of atom increases.......as sodium has last electron in third shell and potassium has lost electronic in 4th shell so size of potassium atom is larger than sodium atom....
