Why is a series arrangement not used for domestic circuits give two reasons?

Series arrangement is not used for domestic circuits due to following reasons :

(2) Total resistance of domestic circuit will be sum of the resistance of all appliances and hence current drawn by the circuit will be less.

(3) We cannot use independent on/off switches with individual appliances.

series arrangement is not used in domestic circuits because there is voltage division in series circuits. Each component of a series circuit receives a small voltage for a large supply voltage. As a result, the amount of current decreases and the device becomes hot.
