To understand the literary sources of history, it is inevitable to know wholesomely how the source came into existence, who was the architect, what was his or her persona and understanding about history and history writing, what was the contemporary perception about history etc.? This article is a comparative study of two representative historians of the medieval India namely, Abul Fazl and Muhnot Nainsee. Although there was almost a gap of one generation between the two however the two historians in their personalities and in their action or works have so many common things. Here is the comparison of their similarities and dissimilarities based on their personalities and works, also of their historiography based on their objective, sources of material, attitude of prejudice, sense of history and the utility of their works.
