Why is AC current is used for measuring resistance of an electrolytic solution?

Alternating current is used to prevent electrolysis of the electrolytic solution so that concentration of ions in the solution remain constant. ,conductivity could be determined using direct current as an application of Ohm's Law so alternating Current is used.
