why is acceleration zero in case of constant velocity ?​

If a body is in LINEAR MOTION , and if velocity is constant , acceleration is zero , because acceleration is rate of change of velocity ! ... In case of ROTATIONAL MOTION , even when a body has constant velocity , it changes direction and velocity is a vector quantity which depends on direction .
