Acrylic is less expensive and cheaper (lesser quality) than wool. Wool takes a long time to be ready for market where as acrylic is a synthetic that is easily mass produced. It’s just like the difference between grass fed cattle/sheep getting ready for market and feed lot cattle/sheep that are fed grain and other non grass feed to get them fattened up and at market weight faster.

Because :-

–         Much cheaper
–         Can be softer
–         Doesn’t irritate or ‘scratch’ skin
–         Perfect for babies

HOPE IT HELPS YOU.
