Isothermal equation is PV=constant it linear graph is

logP=-logV

Adiabatic equation is

PV^y=constant y=C(p)/C(v) C(p)>C(v)

its linear form is

logP=-ylogV

and y>1 so the slop is more(

During an adiabatic expansion, the temperature of the gas drops, so the green line must cross isotherms, showing a change in temperature. During compression, the temperature rises, so the line must cross isotherms going the other way.
