Why is agriculture not widespread in a desert?

Hey!

Agriculture is not widespread in deserts because the water available there is not at all enough for growing both commercial and intensive agriculture.

We know it rarely rains in deserts. Added to that the soil in deserts in dry and infertile this not suitable for any crop.

Moreover, deserts do not give habitat to those who want to start agriculture.
