See, a disease is something which gets treated over a certain period of time. But a syndrome is something chronic, and it is not a single disease, it's a whole lot of diseases which you get due to a reason, which in the case of AIDS, is HIV, which weakens our immune system, making us prone to a whole lot of other diseases.

Syndrome is something which cannot be easily cured, even if it is, it may relapse. And that is what happens when a person gets AIDS. Till now, we cannot completely treat someone who has AIDS, it's just that their living years can be increased somewhat.

Hope this helps.

Answer:

Syndrome is a set of symptoms occurring together.AIDS is caused by HIV that enters into  human body mainly through sexual contact. HIV damages immune system of the body .So that  he body fails to resist even minor infection. Since there is no specific symptom for AIDS ,it is  considered as syndrome and not a disease.
