The reason for this is the geographical location and climate of the Amazon.
Amazon enjoys a hot, tropical and wet climate. All thses coupled with the presence of the great amazon river contribute to the rich diversity of flora and fauna. The tropical climate leads to formation of a dense tropical evergreen forest and this provides food and ample shelter to the animals. This is the reason the amount of flora and fauna found there.
