Question- 1 :

Why is amoeba an irregular organism ?

Answer- 1 :

Amoeba do not consist of cell walls which allows them to move freely. They contain specialized structures called pseudopodia which are bulges of the cytoplasm, giving amoeba its irregular shape. Amoeba can move and feed by means of these pseudopodia.

Question- 2 :

What is contractile vacuole ?

Answer- 2 :

A contractile vacuole is a specialized type of vacuole in eukaryotic cells, particularly protozoa and certain unicellular algae. It is involved in osmoregulation. The contractile vacuole contracts to expel water out of the cell.

Question. 3 :

State the functions in Amoeba ?

Answer. 3 :

Amoeba is a unicellular organism. A contractile vacuole works just the same as the name suggests, in that it expands and contracts. The function of the contractile vacuole is to pump water out of the cell through a process called osmoregulation, the regulation of osmotic pressure.

The uses of Fungi are:

  • Fungi are an important source of food.
  • Yeast, a unicellular fungus ,is important in bakeries as it is used in the making of bread.
  • Yeast also produces vitamin B.
  • Fungi, like bacteria ,are also good decomposers.
  • Penicillin an important antibiotic is obtained from a fungus called

The uses of bacteria:

  • Food processing.
  • Biotechnology.
  • Genetic engineering.
  • Fiber retting.
  • Pest control.

➊ Why is amoeba an irregular organism ?

Ans - Amoeba does not have any regular shape because the exterior cover of the body is the cell membrane where nucleus us centrally present surrounded by cyptoplasm.

➋ What is contractile vacuole? State its function in amoeba.

Ans - Contractile vacuole in the amoeba collects the excess water in it's body. Ammonia is at times expelled along with the water out of the contractile vacuole as ammonia is soluble in water. The contractile vacuole in amoeba shrinks when excess water excreted surroundings and expands when it takes in water.

➌ List 5 uses of bacteria and fungi in our lives.

Ans - The uses of Bacteria :

➛ They help in the formation of manure and compost.

➛ Certain bacteria help in curing and tanning I'd animals hides to make leather.

➛ Lactobacillus helps in making curd from liquid .

The uses of Fungi :

➛ Vitamin is produced from yeast , a unicellular fungus.

➛ Some fungi a edible such as mushrooms.

➛ Some fungi are used in making bread and alcohol.
