Ammeter have very low resistance so if we connected it in parallel then the resistance will become negligible so there will be high flow of current in the circuit hence diameter will bust due to heating caused by high flow of current

anubhavmishra15d: Instead of diameter there will be ammeter

ammeter is always connected in series because flow of current is not change but potential difference is changes time to time that's why ammeter is always connected in series.
