Answer:

An ammeter has very very low resistance and used to measure heavy current in a circuit.

If it is connected in paralel to voltage source very large current will flow obeying ohm's law. a heavy current causes very high heating effect so it burns out

Answer:

if voltage is connected in series then due to high resistance no current will flow through circuit so no voltage drop occur. ... its indicates zero. and if ammeter is connected in parallel due to low resistance it will act like short circuit so chances of ammeter get damaged is high.
