Why is an aqueous solution of Sodium chloride neutral but a solution of ammonium chloride acidic in nature?

Answer:

Ammonium chloride is a salt of weak base and strong acid, it undergoes salt hydrolysis to produce an acid solution where sodium chloride is a salt it of strong acid, and strong base , it does not undergoes salt hydrolysis hence, sodium chloride solution remains neutral.
