an ecosystem is considered to be self supporting system and self dependent system because it includes all the living things in an area interacting with each other as well as the physical surroundings it is a self sustained functional unit of environment because in an ecosystem all the biotic and abiotic components interact with each other and maintain a balance in the environment through energy flow and nutrient cycling
