why is anode called oxidation electrode, whereas cathode is called reduction electrode? don't copied answer from google please give me correct answer

The anode is the electrode where oxidation (loss of electrons) takes place

At cathode Reduction Take place ( Gain of electrons)

So anode called Oxidation Electrode and Cathode Reduction Electrode
