Argon and nitrogen are filled in an electric bulb because they do not let the filament get over burnt and blasts. When these gases are used up completely by the bulb, then it has chances to blast.

argon and nitrogen filled in an electric bulb because the are inert gases and they won't allow the filament to get oxidised easily so the bulb will be durable.
