Explanation:
(i) Arid soils are the soils of desert or semi-desert regions and colours varies from red to brown. (ii) The soil has sandy texture and salinity. As precipitation is very low the temperature is high and evaporation is faster making it lack in moisture and humus.

High temperature and low rates of precipitation in regions of arid soil lead to it getting eroded easily.
- Arid soils are found in regions of low rainfall for example in India places like Wester Rajasthan, Haryana, and the Runn of Kutch in Gujrat are the areas of arid soil.
- It has a sandy texture and is reddish-brown in color.
- Due to the presence of a dry climate and extremely high temperatures, the rate of evaporation is very high and the soil cannot retain any moisture. Hence, it is very brittle and dry.
- Due to this low amount of moisture the soil is believed to be easily eroded. Also, as there is very little vegetation erosion happens faster.
