hey mate!
first of all antibiotics is not produced by bacteria....it is made by humans to stop further multiplication of bacteria.
bacteria secrete some chemicals which inhibits the growth of other bacterias.
for example pancellium notatum bacteria secrete some chemicals which inhibits the growth of styphallococcus bacteria.
hence gene of pencillin notatum is inserted in carrior/vector to produce antibacterial drugs against styphallococcus named pancellin
