it is a poor conductor of heat andelectricity so it is used for making electric switches to protect us from getting electric shocks. BAKELITE IS THERMO-PLASTIC ITS A VERY GOOD ELECTRICAL INSULATOR.

it is used for making electric switch and utensils...because thermosetting plastic will not change its shape on heating..and has a stable structure..
