Hey,
In BCl3 Molecule, Boron atom assumes Sp2 Hybrid form. The presence of 3 Sp2 Hybrid orbitals that are accustomed create sigma bonds with Cl atoms to form the trigonal Structures.
On another hand, anhydrous AlCl6 exist within the type of compound Al2Cl6. In AlCl6 every Al atom has four bond pairs. As a result, they possess a Tetrahedral Structure.
