black soil is also known as regur soil because it is ideal for growing cotton and is also known as black cooton soil.it is made up of extremely fine clayey material and is well known for its capacity to hold water.it develops deep cracks during hot weather which helps in the proper aeration of the soil .It is sticky when wet and difficult to work upon unless tilled immidietly after the first shower or during pre monsoon period . it is also rich in soil nutrients like - Calcium carbonate , magnesium , potash and lime .
