Why is black soil found mostly in the region of the southern plateau?

Deccan Plateau is made up of lava, due to the volcanic fissure erruption. The soil in this area is the weathered form of this lava rocks only. And this is the reason of their black color. Similarly, red soil are the weathered form of rocks with iron-oxides.

black soil is found in the mid southern plateau because the region is rich in iron,magnesium and aluminium and are made of volcanic eruptions and lava flow .these r found in the regions of chattisgarh,maharashtra,etc
