why is blood known as a connective tissue

because it's calls are loosely spaced and embedded in a intercellular matrix and connected to all part of body as they do some specific functions like taking waste materials , transporting hormones and nutrition to cells , transporting oxygen etc

basically blood has the same origin as the other tissue(connective tissues) and secondly it helps for the need of o2 ,nutrients, and it aslo removes waste ,these are also the characteristics of a connective tissue..
