Due to low degree of ionization

  • Because it is not able to release H+ ions on its own. It received OH-ions from the water molecule to complete it's octet and in turn release H+ ions.

♥️Boric acid behaves as a Lewis acid and accepts OH- ions from water.

♥️It doesnot dissociate to produce ions rather forms metaborate ion and in turn release ions. Hence boric acid is considered a weak acid.
