Explanation:

BUFFER SOLUTION:

It is defined as the resistive/aposive nature of change in pH.

Shows negligible change on adding small amount of weak acid or weak base.

TYPES OF BUFFER SOLUTION;

1.Simple Buffer Solution;

It contains aqueous solution of salt of weak acid and weak base

2.Mixed Buffer Solution;

It contains 2 type of buffer solution

(i) Acidic:- Aqueous solution of weak acid and it's salt with strong base

(ii) Basic: Aqueous solution of weak base and it's salt of strong acid

Buffer Capacity is defined as the number of mole of acid or base added per liter/change in pH

B.C.=n of acid/∆pH

It is expressed in the form of;

pH=pka±1

*pH range;

salt/base=1/10 log

pH=pka+log1/10

pH=pka-1

pH=pka+log10

pH=pka+1

Range;

pH=pka±1
