Why is burning by steam at 100℃ is more painful than water at 100℃?

MichMich0945: Because it has latent energy of heat

Answer:

bcoz it has latent heat with 100°C so burning with steam is more painful than water at 100°C

That's because steam at 100 degree Celsius has more latent heat as compared to water at the same temp. The steam at 100 deg celcius releases more heat per unit mass as compared to water at 100 degree celcius
