Required Answer:

CaCl2 is used to clear snow from roads on hill stations because it causes depression in freezing point so snow melts into liquid state. Water flows easily and roads get cleared.

Calcium chloride in particular is preferred over many other forms of salt because it has an exceptional ability to remain on the ground rather than dissolving and washing away. Calcium chloride has an usually prodigious ability to form stable hydrates, which causes water molecules that come into contact with it to bind to its crystal structure rather than dissolving it. As a result, by weight it will be retained on surfaces for longer than any other salt of comparable cost.

hope it helps you...
