In the Calgon conditioning there is formation of water soluble complexes occur with the help of CaSO4 , as the result there is no formation of scales as well as the sludge occur in water. So don't cause any difficulty within boilers.

While in case of phosphate conditioning , for the precipitation of calcium phosphate , sodium phosphate is added  And this precipitations supposed to removed  by some operations for keeping away the problems.

This is why calgon conditioning is considered better.
