the carbohydrate digestion is not possible in stomach as Pepsin needs a acidic medium to get activated and act on the food whereas the enzyme which digest carbohydrate needs a basic medium to be activated and act on it

carbohydrate digestion start in mouth with the help of chewing and salivary amylase in combination of mechanical and chemical action. while the process take place in small intestine. Because amylase enzyme does not work in stomach due to acidic conditions. Thats why stomach cannot digest carbohydrate
