why is China not called as a democratic country

China cannot be called a democratic country as it follows the one party system which restricts the right to choose and many other rights. Over the years China has been able to develop herself into a mix of democracy and communism. As far as human rights are concerned China is still a communist country but when it comes to economy China has become sort of a democratic economy.
