hey dear here your answer:
➡Chlorophyll needs to be removed from the leaf i.e. the leaf needs to be ' decolourized' for changes to be observed. A decolourized leaf is pale yellow or green.

● Chlorophyll has the function of converting starch into glucose and other simpler plant products.So we have to remove chlorophyll from the leaf before testing.
