circulation in humans is known as double circulation because the blood flows twice to complete the full circuit of body as firtly pure blood travels fron heart to all organs then second time dirty or deoxygenated blood tavels from heat to lungs for further purification.

→ oxygen rich blood from the lungs come to the thin walled upper chamber of heart on the left atrium

→ the left atrium relaxes it then contracts with the next chamber the left ventricle expands so that the blood is transferred to it

→ when the muscular left ventricle contracts in its term the blood is pumped out to the body

→ deoxygenated blood come from the body to the upper chamber on the right the right atrium as it expands

→ as the right atrium contracts the corresponding lower chamber the right ventricle delate

→ this transfer blood to right ventricle which is in turn pumped into the lungs for oxygenation

→ since ventricles have to pump blood into various organs they have thicker muscular walls than atria

Blood goes through heart twice during each cycle in vertebrates this is known as double circulation .
