Mammals have a double circulation in their body and have a four chambered heart.
The blood flows twice in the heart and the pulmonary circulation is different from the systemic circulation.
The oxygenated and the deoxygenated blood travel separately without mixing ..

to complete a fuull circulation, blood enters the heart twice, once through vena cava and another through pulmonary vein, so it is also called double circulation.
